Design: Gradient on nails
A gradient is a smooth transition from one color to another.
Many colors can be used in this design. You can use colors that are similar to each other, or, conversely, contrasting.
A list of tools that will be required for the design:
• file, orange stick
• base, colored gel polish, top
• brush or sponge
• cardboard or foil
• napkin and degreaser
• lamp
Masters use different techniques for performing such a design.
Let 's consider a few of them:
Before starting the design, we polish, degrease and apply a base coat (or substrate)
The way for beginners is a sponge.
1. We drip colored gel polish onto cardboard or foil so that they are right next to each other. We smear a little with a toothpick or an orange stick.
2. Dip the sponge into the gel polish and apply it to the nail.
3. Apply with light patting movements – due to them, the varnishes on the border will mix and give a soft transition. For brightness, you can repeat everything and make 2-3 layers.
4. We cover the nails with a top and dry them
For beautiful transitions, a brush is often used: "comb". Consider this option.
1. Paint the half of the nail with one tone, and the second with another.
2. Blot the brush in the clinker for the effect of humidity.
We begin to pull one tone towards the other, moving the brush in different directions.
3. Remove excess varnish from the brush from time to time.
4. Dry the first layer well and apply the second
5. The last layer is the top.
6. Dry.
The fastest way is an airbrush.
With this device, a smooth transition is obtained.
1. Apply shellac
2. Drying
3. Cover with a top.
4. Fill the airbrush with pigment.
5. Spray and wait a couple of minutes before drying.
6. We fix it with a top.
These are the basic techniques for applying a gradient, but there are many of them and each master chooses the most convenient one for himself.
